The story of Marc Yount's Tire Pros starts with Marc Yount himself, who began his career in the tire business at the age of 21. After working for two local independent auto shops, he ultimately decided that he could best serve his community by opening up his own tire and auto repair business. His wife, who was a real estate agent, helped him find a space that they felt could work. In a 4-bay warehouse behind a paper supply company with only 1 door off the loading dock and a porch out front to help extend the waiting room, Marc Yount’s Tire and Auto Works opened its doors in August of 1985.
A month later, at about the time of the grand opening, Marc found out that the adoption agency that he and his wife had been working with had found a baby girl to be a part of their small family. Marc became a small business owner and a dad that year. In 1994, Marc made the decision to move his business to a larger space and found a 7-bay facility in Evans, GA. Although the building was only 2.5 miles from his current shop, Evans seemed a bit barren. This made Marc unsure if the new location would be a good place to continue his business.
However, to Marc’s surprise, the customer base that he created in his original location has no problem following him to his new location. The community knew that they could trust Marc with their vehicles, and loyalty to Marc Yount's Tire & Automotive grew. Soon, business began to grow at the same time that the area around the shop flourished with new businesses and more people moved into the Evans area. The shop expanded with an additional 2 bays for auto repair.
The last 35 years have seen a lot of change within the auto industry, and Marc has fought to stay ahead of the game by focusing on investing in new equipment and implementing an ongoing training program for our technicians and service advisors. In 2010, Marc decided to partner with Tire Pros, which is the nation’s largest network of independent tire dealers, to better align himself within the market and be able to provide even better service and warranties to his customers.
After almost 50 years in the business, Marc can still be found behind the service counter. His daughter, Jessica, the baby that arrived at the same time the shop opened, handles the back-office operations from behind the scenes.
