Had a not so great experience at Marc Younts yesterday, I got 4 new tires back in March spent $655, I had great customer service experience, I got 4 new tires, offered a warranty, wanted to get road hazard protection but was advised against getting it by the tire shop. Which I took their word for because of course they are the experts. Since then I have been experiencing an issue with my back tire on my driver side for the last couple of weeks and took it in to get it checked out and I was told that the tire was unrepairable and I need to get a new tire. I have a warranty on the tires, but the warranty as I was explained was basically a manufacture warranty, and the only way to have the tire repaired was if I had road hazard protection, which is something that I was not offered and they acknowledged that they usually do not offer because they feel that the price of the insurance is more than just getting a new tire. Apparently it must be customary to have to go into this tire shop every 3-4 months to get a new tire, which to me is not good business that's more of a scam, where you cheat good customers out of money. So I told them I respectfully declined having a new tire placed on there and would look elsewhere. The gentleman at the counter got an unnecessary attitude with me and I had to remind him that I have the right to take my business to where I feel I am getting the best value and treatment. I called the warranty company Toyo Tires which my warranty was through and they were appalled by my treatment and surprised that Marc Younts who they say they deal with regularly did not offer the road hazard protection or even give them a call to see what they could do considering I just purchased new tires from them in March. They offered me 50% off a new tire and were willing to work with another shop to make this happen for me, so that way I would not have to go back to Marc Younts due to poor service. That's called great customer service. I went over to discount tires, explained what happened they were shocked as well, and pulled out their own warranty policy and explained to me word for word what it could which included road hazard protection. They thought it was bizarre that Marc Younts did not provide it considering that it was a tire and that tires are meant to be driven on the road and things happen, and they were willing to fix my tire, and also provided me warranty for my three other tires, for the same price that Marc Younts was trying to charge me to get one repaired. I will definitely be choosing them for business I like a company that stands by their customers and the products they sell and provide. I will not be going back to Marc Yount's ever again.
Sorry you feel that way. Most tire manufacturers do not offer Road Hazard protection and won't give you any % off a new one if you tear one up beyond repair. If you wanted to contact Toyo, we would have been happy to help on our end to get you an adjustment. The day you bought your tires it was for the same reason, a nail in the sidewall which should not be repaired by anyone. We have only seen you in our store twice, the day you got the tires and on 10/06/15 for the flat repair that could not be repaired. We do not push road hazard protection on anyone, especially for a tire that cost $105. You would have left $100 at my counter for the road hazard protection that you admit we offered and you did not purchase. Sorry if you felt disrespected in any way, but if you read all our other reviews you will see this is not how we operate and you will also see that we do in fact offer GREAT customer service. Sounds like everyone else you talked to already knew this. Sorry you had a bad day but we did not puncture your tire and were just trying to help the best way possible.
